Dear Parents,

Congratulations to the sports hall athletics squad who came third at the High Peak Final.  They showed good sportsmanship and had fun.  We are very proud of them.

We have an exciting day today with the children in key stage two watching a performance by The English Touring Opera.

Tomorrow is break five rules day.  As you will remember the children in school have been really concerned about what is happening in Ukraine and wanted to do something to help the refugees.  On Friday 18th March they have planned a ‘Break 5 Rules Day’.  On that day the children can choose to break any or all of the rules below, for every rule they break they need to donate at least 50p.  The rules they can break are:

  • Sensible hair (the children can have wacky hair / accessories)
  • School shirt / jumper (the children can wear what they want)
  • School trousers, skirts shoes etc (the children can wear what they want)
  • Only water in drinks bottles (the children can have squash in their bottles)
  • Healthy snacks (the children can bring in an unhealthy snack)

If children want to bring in a larger donation we will make sure it goes in the refugee fund, the children wanted me to make that clear.  We are very grateful to Mr Beaman who has offered to put what we raise in with what he is raising as this will mean it is match funded.

If you want to order a copy of your child’s class photo orders need to be returned to us by the end of the day next Wednesday 23rd March.

The PTA also have a message for you:

Weather permitting, we’ll be holding a whole school Scoot & Skate on Wednesday the 23rd of March! The event starts straight after school on Wednesday so please collect your child as usual. You are responsible for looking after your own child/children at the event and all children scooting/skating must have helmets. We will be selling hot dogs, cakes, drinks and crisps so bring some cash as all proceeds from the event will go toward the current crisis in Ukraine. Children can come with scooters, roller skates, inline skates, but no bicycles. Siblings are welcome and we hope to raise lots of money for Ukraine!
If you can help on the day with serving food or drinks, or could bake us some cakes to sell on the day, please let reception know and we will be in touch!I Thank you!
