St Luke’s CE Primary School Newsletter
Opening eyes, hearts and minds
20/10/2023
Dear families of our St. Luke’s children,
We are very sad to say that our lovely Mrs Evans, School Business Assistant extraordinaire, is leaving us. Next Tuesday will be her last week at St. Luke’s. Mrs Evans has been with us for six years and has been a superb member of the staff team caring for all of us as well as the children. We will miss her immensely and wish her well in her retirement.
Disco
The school discos are next Thursday – Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 3.30 – 4.30pm and years 3,4,5 and 6 from 5.00 – 6.30pm. Please see the PTA newsletter for details about tickets and stamp cards or call in to the office if you have any questions.
Thank you PTA!
We are very lucky to have such a lovely bunch of people in our PTA. This week a team of them gave up their day to put up the new shed for the Reception children to be able to store their bikes in the playground. If you want to know the answer to how many people does it take to put up an 8ft by 6ft Keter shed – let me know! (hint: it was much longer than instructions said it would be!). We would be stuck without our bands of willing volunteers, particularly with all of the exciting projects that are happening around the school. Please see Chika Jones or Rosie Howell if you want to be part of the teams helping us to make those projects work.
Flu Immunisations
Unfortunately, the immunisations team were unable to complete all of the immunisations today as they were delayed in arriving here. Immunisations for years R, 1, 2, 3 and 4 will be done at another time. If your child was in Years 6 or 5 or were having the jab rather than the nasal spray, they received their immunisation today.
Emails
We think that the issue with emails has been resolved as no emails are bouncing back to us. If you are not getting copies of the newsletters or anything else that is being sent out, please contact the office and we’ll see why this is.
INSET on Friday 27th October
Just a reminder that school finishes for the children at the end of the day on Thursday 26th October as the staff have a training day on the 27th October.
Wishing you all a restful weekend.
With best wishes
Mrs Rogers
